MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT/PRINCIPAL
Endicott families, staff, and students,
As fall begins to arrive, I would like to remind folks to send students with appropriate dress for outside PE and Recesses. We want the students to be out as long as possible in the fall; they spend enough time in the gym during the winter time. Let's enjoy the brisk air and be out when we can! If you are in need of clothing items, please do not hesitate to let either me or Mrs. Di Biase know. We do have extra to support families in need.
Our Middle School students recently traveled to Palouse for a "Why Character Matters" assembly. We got to hear from Mark Leinweaver, a representative for many professional athletes across the U.S., as he talked about the dangers of social media, the benefits of volunteering, and about being in charge of your own best client, yourself. Ther students were truly amazing representatives of our community while visiting our neighboring school. You should be proud of the young men and women you are raising - they presented themselves as positive, respectful, engaged students who had a good time with other Whitman County schools.
Our Preschool students also recently traveled to the Buck Canyon Barn to visit the pumpkin patch and enjoy a morning of beautiful weather. They got to go on their first bus ride ever, make friends with their St. John Preschool classmates, and came back with amazing smiles on their faces! We are so blessed to have the students in our buildings that we do. They also represented our community in a positive manner. I cannot thank you enough for all that you do to support the school - we do our best to work with parents and community members and raise well-adjusted, involved students that make us all proud!
Spirit Week is October 7-11 - please encourage your child/children to participate if they want. We have some fun activities planned on Wednesday at our pep assembly. There are two Middle School games that week as well. It's a fun time to support our Middle School athletes with our small-town version of Homecoming, Endicott style!
The state of Washington has chosen to not fully fund public education for years, even though it is the paramount duty of the legislature, according to the state constitution. If you are curious about how this came to be, as well as how this is impacting our local educational opportunities, please go to waschoolfunding.org for more information. I am more than happy to sit and discuss any of this with community members. Every now and then I pop down to the store for lunch and conversation. Please feel free to join me at any time, or let me know that you want to chat and I will set up a time to come down for lunch. I am here to serve the community and students, so let me know :)
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please contact me directly. I am more than willing to work things out and am here to help students have the strongest learning opportunities possible.
Warm regards,
Tricia Jeffries, M.Ed.
